It is that time of year again; time to think about moonlit skies and stunning water features. Oh how we love this Evening Water Garden Tour! Join us Saturday, September 30^th, 2017 for our magical Evening Water Garden Tour!

Just writing about this tour makes me happy. Could it be the soft autumn evening and the moonlight shining on the water? Maybe, but for whatever reason, this tour is not only a showstopper, it’s a heck of a lot of fun! On this Evening Water Garden Tour you will be transported via bus from property to spectacular property as we enjoy an alfresco progressive dinner and dessert. Attending this tour you will experience not only spectacular water features but you will also be captivated by some of the latest in landscape lighting and outdoor sound systems. The moon and the stars will not be the only thing lighting up our night for us on this Evening Water Garden Tour.

Photos are encouraged as you wander around ponds, pondless waterfalls, fountains and lush landscaping all with the added benefit of outdoor lighting and underwater lights too. Properties are as varied as homeowners and that is what makes these tours a feast for the eyes. No two properties are the same but all of the property owners share the same love of the outdoor lifestyle and that includes the wonderful addition of water and lighting on their property.

Are you looking for a fun way to spend some time outdoors while meeting new people? Painting by the Pond is the perfect way to learn a new hobby and enjoy an evening out. Friday night, September 8^th, 2017 we will have the pleasure of Katie leading us in this fun Painting outside in Paoli workshop. We will have the beautiful outdoor pond area at the Paoli Design Center as our inspiration and the rest of the lovely courtyard for us to enjoy our light alfresco dinner. You will also be able to take a sneak peek at the new Van Cleve Bridal showroom housed in the same building.

Katie is our artist in residence here at Turpin’s. She received her art degree from Temple University Tyler School of Art and her passion is flowers and landscaping. Katie will walk us through the steps of painting on canvas but please don’t be intimidated, this class is for everyone. From beginners to experienced and everyone in between this class is about painting but it is also about making friends and enjoying a beautiful September evening Painting outside in Paoli.

Join us on Friday night, September 8^th, 2017 for Painting outside in Paoli. This fun and interactive workshop includes snacks and a light dinner.

Join our very own Katie Verdieck at the Paoli Design Center for an evening of relaxation and fun. This interactive class will have you meeting new friends and learning the basics of painting. Even if you have never held a paint brush before, come join the fun. This is a judgement free zone!

Katie’s Bio: Katie is an experienced artist; whose great love of gardening brought her to us at Turpin’s and we are thrilled to have her join our team! She will be our artistic instructor for the evening. Katie has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Temple University, Tyler School of Art and multiple certificates from Longwood Gardens where she continues studying many different aspects of Horticulture.

This mesmerizing Evening Water Garden Tour is truly a sight to behold.  Imagine spectacular water features illuminated by a star filled September sky!  Some first-time visitors have been known to be rendered speechless.  This tour features an eclectic array of landscape and underwater lighting, water features, including ponds, pondless waterfalls and fountains. This fun filled evening includes dinner, dessert and bus transportation. Last year our friendly bus driver called his wife and told her “You can’t believe how beautiful these water features are!” He called her so many times that evening, I am certain she will be attending this year.

Mark your calendar to celebrate the start of summer with our Garden Tour & Pig Roast.  The Garden Tour & Pig Roast is a truly unique adventure that will take you to some of the most beautiful and creative residential gardens in bucolic Chester County and beyond.  At our first stop we will start the day off with a continental breakfast.  Becky Turpin will then amaze us all with her knowledge and true passion for everything that grows.  She will share with us some of her favorites flowers and plants, which usually include some rare and unconventional species. From there we travel from garden to garden experiencing the many wonders of creative gardening, because like people, no two gardens are ever alike.  Many attendees say the garden tour gives them inspiration to try something new, something they may never have thought of had they not attended the tour and joined the fun!  Speaking of fun, please join us back at Turpin Landscaping for our annual Pig Roast.  The gang is always friendly and they love talking with friends both old and new about gardening, landscaping, ponds, and just about anything that involves outdoor lifestyles.

Welcome to the Best Deal of the Year, bar none!  The Brandywine Valley Water Garden Weekend Tour offers two days filled with spectacular water gardens and even includes dinner on Saturday night!  This two day self-guided tour features a large array of different water features.  Included in the mix are self-contained ponds with streams and water features ranging in size from small to expansive as well as waterfalls without visible ponds.  Beautiful landscaping, incredibly colorful flowers, arrays of dazzling waterfalls and friendly fish await our attendees.  Over 40 homeowners have graciously opened their properties for your enjoyment so you may pick and choose what interest you or if you are a bit more adventuresome you may try to visit all 40 plus locations.  We also offer the option of bus transportation on Saturday.  Many prefer to sit back and let the experienced bus driver take care of dealing with directions and parking, please know that this is only available on Saturday.  The ticket for the bus also includes a box lunch and the opportunity to head out Sunday on a self guided tour to visit any of the features you missed on Saturday. Another reason I’d say, sign me up!

Saturday evening festivities will be held at Turpin Landscaping in Coatesville.  All the tour attendees, volunteers and homeowners are invited to the Barbecue and Silent Auction.  Supported by many local businesses, attendees have the opportunity to browse through and bid on many unique items offered during the Silent Auction.   Great food, good friends, live entertainment and a party atmosphere all help to make this the perfect ending to a wonderful day.  But, this of course, is just the halfway point.  Don’t forget you still have Sunday to explore any of the properties that you weren’t able to see on Saturday.

This one of a kind tour and dinner serves another very powerful purpose.  For the past 12 years with the help of generous sponsors, friends and family, the Brandywine Valley Water Garden Association has donated over $80,000.00 to this very worthy cause.  So join us on this amazing tour and help stamp out hunger in Chester County.
